A total of 150 elders received grocery hampers as part of the Mayor\u2019s commitment to ensuring that senior citizens enjoy a dignified and joyful festive season.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Addressing the elders, His Worship said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cAs we always say, \u2018Okwabantu ebantwini\u2019. Today we are living that promise by giving our elders a good Christmas.&nbsp;We are grateful to have you in our lives, and we know that most of you are breadwinners in your families. Please enjoy this gesture and never stop praying for us.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The Mayor expressed his appreciation for the continued role that senior citizens play in supporting families and communities, despite the many challenges they face.&nbsp;<span style=\"font-size: 15px;\">Looking ahead, His Worship promised positive developments for Endumeni residents in 2026, reaffirming the municipality\u2019s commitment to improving the quality of life for all.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>He also used the occasion to call on the community to unite in protecting women and children against gender-based violence, as well as to stand firm against the abuse of drugs and alcohol, which continue to affect many households.<\/p>\n<p>The event reflected the municipality\u2019s values of Ubuntu, care, and respect for elders, especially during the festive season.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>His Worship, the Mayor of Endumeni Local Municipality, AM Mkhize, hosted a Christmas celebration for senior citizens drawn from all wards within the municipality.
